AGC Mountaineering Club is a small club founded in the late 1980's, spawned out of the Hounslow Duke of Edinburgh's Award Gold Club by virtue of those who had completed their Gold Award and were looking to continue their adventures. Gradually expanding to include anybody of similar mind (and preferably with access to climbing gear) the AGC's membership has waxed and waned over the past 15 or so years to the point where it can now boast a compact group of members spread not only across most of Great Britain but across almost every continent. Although much of its original membership are still active and still going for those big routes, many are now focused on introducing the next generation to the crags and fells with an ever growing contingent of budding young climbers and mountaineers. So as with many clubs the AGC has evolved into a family club, keen to promote an atmosphere that encourages the safe practice of all forms of fun and enjoyment in the outdoor playground.
